OLD WORLD SOMETHING BLUE DESIGN

I’m so excited to share with you all another amazing Editorial that I had the pleasure of planning and producing! Something about the “old world” theme has always called to me. It’s full of wonder, history, art, architecture and vintage/antique tones to it that has made me fall in love with it! This beautiful Editorial is now live on Magnolia Rouge. I am so honored to be featured once again on their amazing Fine Art Wedding Blog!!

DESIGN

I present to you, this timeless wedding editorial inspired by Old World Elegance and Romance. You are welcomed into this editorial in hopes of inspiring you to treasure old items and to find their beauty. This theme and its design was styled to showcase how Old World Charm Meets New World Romance, with contrasting yet complimenting elements in shades of blue inspired by the phrase, “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue”. I wanted to showcase gorgeous architecture, the beauty of old world charm, modern elegance and combining the best of both worlds!

LOCATION

Our beautiful venue, The Waverley Chapel, was the perfect backdrop for this Editorial. It featured old world architecture with its stunning European-designed masonry. As a vintage and antique lover, I wanted to show just how beautiful old things can be, old items hold beautiful stories of history, have traveled through many eras and can be given “new life” by being repurposed. We featured many gorgeous antiques from The Luminarie Co throughout this entire shoot, in the styling of the flatlay, elevated food display and in antique elements in the tablescape. There is so much elegance to behold when we appreciate the beauty and history of old items.

CEREMONY

Our beautiful ceremony featured an asymmetrical floral arch by Solstice Bloom, set against the perfect backdrop of the wooden venue door. We wanted to create a ceremony arch that showcased the most stunning florals slowly crawling up the beautiful door to this old chapel. Our ceremony setup featured mix and matched chairs from Rustic Events to really enhance the “old” feel of gathering together and transporting you back to Old World Europe.

RECEPTION

We kept our reception space elegant but brought in elevated details to capture the old world charm, such as beautifully designed antique napkins by The Luminarie Co, these were at each place setting and match box favors by PaperOcelot that served as each guest’s place card. Our reception space took on the same mix and match chairs and sofas to create an elevated and exciting experience! We wanted to convey the idea that your wedding should treat each guest to an amazing experience and make them feel valued and cherished.

CATERING & CAKE

Colette’s Catering styled an amazing grazing display that would leave any guest filled with excitement! This display featured an antique desk from Afaire Vintage Rentals with succulent bites coming out of its drawers as well as on top of antique platters and trays in varied heights. This paired with the most stunning cake by Cocoaberry Cake Co. was all perfection! The gorgeous cake featured 3 tiers full of floral details and a blue marbling inspired by European architecture and old world flair.

ATTIRE & BEAUTY

Our Bride & Groom were looking so effortlessly chic in a gorgeously designed and detailed Marchesa gown and a classic black suit from Friar Tux Shop. The shoulder sleeves featured on this Marchesa gown were totally swoon worthy and gave us all of the old world feels! Kylee Hudson Bridal created the most ethereal and whimsical look for our Bride and I am completely beside myself with how in love with it I am!

PHOTO & VIDEO

Lastly, everything was captured so beautifully with Photos by Alison Brynn Photography and Video by Peter & Bridgette Weddings! Thank you to Alison and Peter for capturing all of the amazing details so perfectly!!
